(ORER.CZ) PRAGUE, 07 MARCH -  For the first time in Armenia, Shaula International LLC, under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture of Armenia and of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and of Tourism of Italy, and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, on September 25 in Armenia will inaugurate the International Contemporary Art Exhibition: Armenia 2018, which welcomes artists from all over the world to participate.

The Exhibition-Festival will be showcased in different parts of Yerevan’s major cultural centers such as National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Alexander Spendiaryan, Cafesjian Center for the Arts, Armenian Artists’ Union, Aram Khachaturian Museum and the Hay Art Cultural Center.

At the press conference the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Amiryan, stated that the uniqueness of including several museums around the city center will create a great atmosphere of culture and art that are two basic aspects of the Armenian tradition.

The program, which will contribute to the improvement of friendly relations between Armenia and Italy, will raise the awareness of Contemporary World Art in Armenia and promote the recognition of Armenia’s history and culture in a number of countries around the world.

The project is implemented jointly with “Shaula International” LLC, which is a consulting and management firm based in Armenia. Its main mission is to promote foreign investment and cultural and economic exchanges between Europe and Armenia. Mr. Alberto Cagliostro, co-founder of Shaula International discussed the meaning of the official logo of the exhibition explaining that the stylized “A” of Armenia represents a warm hug between two people in order to symbolize the warm spirit of host and the cultural openness of Armenia as a nation and as a population.

Marina Hakobian, the Armenian curator, explained the conceptual basis of the exhibition which intends to be a journey through the multiplicity and the ideological diversity and contrast of different cultural thinking, the organic interconnection of content-thematic, technical-performative, and other forms of thinking. The exhibition, which consists of various sections, unites the modern world art of the last three decades with the complex system of its principles of style.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Harutyunyan, wanted to further underline the importance of the event in order to increase the value of Armenian artists with their artwork presented in an international spotlight as well as the importance of having chosen the date of the event given that in October 2018 Armenia will host as well the Francophonie Summit that is expecting numerous official delegations from all over the world.  The Italian Ambassador to Armenia, H.E. Giovanni Ricciulli, has expressed great enthusiasm for the realization of this international artistic project which sees Italy and Armenia, two countries united by a profound cultural richness, working closely in order to materialize this initiative.

The Exhibition will be accompanied by various cultural events organized by local organizations which will present their initiatives during the period of ICAE2018.

We have decided to dedicate an area where several evenings during the exhibition period artists will have the opportunity to meet with other artists, curators, art experts, galleries directors, coalitionists and journalists that need time with artists to dedicated interviews and eventually meet visitors over a casual cup of tea and hold a lively conversation about their practice. These events will be organized in the Mirzoyan Library, located in the very center of Yerevan, just behind the Republic Square. These evenings will be live-streamed on our social media partners website. If interested, artists will have the possibility to speak to our online community through short videos made by the artists about themselves and their way of working.
